About Us
Recipe Philly is a first-of-its-kind restaurant inspired by the recipes, stories, and traditions that have shaped Philadelphia for generations.
Through a citywide competition, local home cooks share meaningful family recipes for the opportunity to earn a place on the menu of our 175-seat flagship restaurant in Center City Philadelphia. The result is a dining experience where every dish has a story behind it and every meal celebrates the people, cultures, and communities that make Philadelphia unique.
The journey began in November 2025 with an open casting call that drew hundreds of hopeful contestants from across the region. The competition continues in July 2026, when finalists will present their recipes to a panel of chefs, food influencers, and community leaders. Winning dishes will earn a place on the opening menu when Recipe Philly welcomes its first guests on August 10, 2026.
At the heart of Recipe Philly is a philosophy we call Heirloom Hospitality: the belief that food is more than nourishment. It is memory, tradition, and connection passed from one generation to the next. From the recipes we serve to the way we welcome guests, our goal is to create an experience that feels warm, personal, and distinctly Philly.

We believe food is more than flavor. It’s memory. It's meaning. It’s the story of where you come from — and the way you welcome others in. At RECIPE, we honor the meals that matter. The dishes tested over time, perfected in home kitchens, and passed around tables full of laughter, healing, joy, and love.
We invite everyday cooks — grandmothers, neighbors, dreamers, sons, and sisters — to share the recipes that shaped them. Then we give those recipes the platform they deserve: A beautiful dining room. A national stage. A community hungry for something real. Ours is a table built on belonging. A place where food is crafted with care, served with story, and remembered long after the last bite.
We are not fast casual. We are not fine dining. We are something entirely new: Heirloom hospitality.
